Shopaholics Guide to Kuala Lumpur - Bangsar Bahru Boutiques

With only one purchase from my previous trip to Kuala Lumpur, I did not have high expectations for shopping when I headed to Kuala Lumpur last month. The popular shopping haunts in KL like Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wang, Bukit Bintang did not leave an impression on me and in my opinion, the top countries to go to for shopping in Asia has always been Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

This trip, however, I discovered an up an coming shopping gem at Kuala Lumpur. Bangsar Bahru. Bangsar Bahru is a swanky shopping precinct that houses many trendy fashion boutiques and restaurants and is becoming very popular for expatriates and locals.

Here is a guide of the must visit boutiques at Bangsar Bahru:

Shoes Shoes Shoes

With a huge passion for shoes, Yiu Lin started this shoe label where she designs and manufactures these exquisite shoes. Yiu Lin's designs are elegant, trendy and also pocket friendly! Besides Shoes Shoes Shoes, Yiu Lin also has a clothing line called IdyLinn and a bag line called Klutched

Baci Boutique

(via The Childlikeempress )

The clothes at Baci Boutique are primarily sourced from Bangkok. One of the more popular boutiques at Bangsar Village, the interior of the shop is very innovative with the use of the wavy bars to hang the clothes.

Kitsch

(via The Star )

The sister boutique of popular restaurant Marmalade next door, Kitsch houses brands by many designers such as, Wish, One Teaspoon and Lili from Australia, Emma Gordon from London, Love and Degeared from US and Little Off Forest from Singapore! You can also find vintage shirts from Junk Food Clothing at this boutique.

M'Shroom

M'Shroom is a boutique at Bangsar Bahru with various street brands for guys.

No. 9-2 Jalan Telawi 2

Sometime Boutique

(via MSN)

Sometime Boutique is a boutique that houses vintage and quirky clothes that are sourced by the owner herself. The clothes are kept in small quantities to keep them exclusive so you do not have to worry about walking down the street in the same outfit as someone else! The ambience in the boutique is imspired by the 1980 movie, Somewhere in Time and also has a couch where our boyfriends can sit and surf the net ( wireless is available ) while we are busy shopping!

Rumours by Goss:ps

Rumours is a boutique that offers fashionable and affordable menswear. Yes, finally something for the boys! Each piece is sourced by the 2 owners all over Asia. They also have their in house label that features many colorful and bold designs that will definitely spice up any guy's wardrobe.

Thimble Boutique

What I love about this boutique is that all the clothes all really feminine yet modern at the same time. The clothes are separated by Basics and Fashion and are all designed by Ching and Sandra themselves. The quirky accessories available at the boutique are sourced by the duo themselves on their many travelling trips.

Maizen

Maizen Boutique is located in a red and white bungalow between Telawi and Bangsar Shopping Centre. Maizen is a 3-storey boutique and houses over 28 brands like Charlotte Ronson, Alexander Wang, Tracy Reese, T-Bags, Black Halo, Elizabeth & James, Julie Haus, Mike & Chris, Rag & Bone, Nanette Lepore, CC Skye, Rebecca Taylor, Fiona Paxton and Alexis Hudson. If these brands are not attractive enough to lure you to this boutique, there is also a carousel at the 2nd floor of the building.

There is also section for babies, Maizen Babette with baby clothes, shoes, accessories, funky baby bottles and pacifiers, toys and books!

112 Jalan Maarof

Blueberry

Yet another vintage boutique at Bangsar Bahru, most of the Blueberry Boutique's vintage items are sourced by the owner from Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan. This boutique houses many clothes, shoes, bags and accessories in many different designs.
