Clutched Effect: Alexander Wang

Some people like their clutches embellished or adorned in crystals. But I like mine simple. This Alexander Wang clutch oozes sophistication but still has the signature edgy look that every Alexander Wang design will have. I am especially in love with the black and brown ombre piece. The white one is really sexy as well.

Plus it is on sale on theoutnet.com.

Fashion and Pokemon

I came across this tumblr called Pokemon & Fashion few days back and I was overwhelmed with happiness. Most of my childhood is spent playing pokemon on Gameboy, and then Nintendo DS in my teens. And I have always thought that Ash was the hottest cartoon character, ever. Plus haven't we all collected pokemon cards when we were kids?

This tumblr combines two of my favorite things, Fashion and Pokemon. The pokemons surprisingly fit in really well in these fashion editorials and ad campaigns. My favorite has to be the Miss Dior Cherie ad campaign.

With Hello Kitty on Elle Taiwan, we might start seeing pokemons soon in fashion magazines soon? :)

Stripe Up

Jumpsuit - Bangkok: Platinum Fashion Mall, Headband - Forever 21, Wedges - Crocs

I bought this striped jumpsuit during my trip to Bangkok in July! It was love at first sight, at $5SGD it was hard to resist. I even bought another piece in pink! :P The best part is, even though I got it at Bangkok's famous Platinum Fashion Mall, the tag says " H&M". :P

Anyway, it is Christmas Eve in Singapore now! Merry Christmas to all of you :) Thank you for the support I have gotten for my blog the past 3 years! Next year would be better!

It's Karlmania!

The creative force behind Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld partners with Net-a-Porter to launch an affordable line called Karl on January 25. It is a 100 piece collection and prices range from $95 to $450. You can download a KARL app on Net-a-porter and also " Karlify " yourself. Here is a sneak peak to his upcoming line, Karl. The collection is predominantly black, white, grey, silver and burgundy. I am really loving the detachable collars and fingerless gloves, and also the t-shirt with Karl's face on it! There are also tuxedo elements as shown on the bib-front shirts.

Karl Lagerfeld will also be showing at Paris once again, with his new designer line called Karl Lagerfeld Paris. After a 2 year hiatus, this line will be available in Europe, Russia, Asia, and Middle East.

What do you guys think of the collection? Will you be camping online on January 25 to grab the pieces as soon as it go online?

Snake Attack

Top - H&M, Pants - Forever 21, Headband - Bangkok: Platinum Mall, Shoes - Far East Plaza, Bag - Longchamp

I wore this outfit for MTV Sessions featuring Vanness Wu last week at Resorts World Sentosa! I was a big F4 fan when I was young, and was so psyched cause it has been 8 long years since I have seen F4 and Vanness is my favorite member :D

I bought this top at H&M the week before and thought it would be a nice addition to my wardrobe as I do not have any snake prints. It was this or a snake print dress with flare skirt. Hmm. Anyway, this is also one of my favorite pants, love the paper bag shape, the color and it is just so comfy!

Veira: Tromp Around Town Fall 2011 Collection

Veira is a Singapore bag label started by Wey Ling who is an engineer turned designer. I came across this label when I was at Parco Milennia Walk and the funky designs of the bags really caught my eye.

This latest collection by Wey Ling features bags with classic sillouettes like kiss locks with illustrations printed on them. Classic. Cute. Functional. Quirky. Everything I want for in a bag.

My favorite bag is the Citrus Shopaholic Bag ( second photo ). The yellow patent leather trimmings, adorable illustration of the bag's pockets and a pair of sunglasses! Definitely the epitome of chic to me.

I caught up with Wey Ling and asked her a few questions on why did she go into bag designing and what are the struggles she faced as a designer!

1. How did you get started with designing bags? Was it a lifelong passion?

I have always had strong interest in both business and the fashion industry since University days. Mainly attributed to endless hours of shopping and trend spotting in the virtual space, I fell in love with so many bags and accessories that I started developing my own idea of how I wanted things to be. Eventually, I got on to sketching my ideas on paper and this coupled with my keen interest in business, I decided to create my own line of bags. Although secretly, I believe it has a lot to do with my obsession of paper bags since young!

2. What is your most memorable experience so far?

Running my own label is already a dream come true and one of the most memorable experience in my life. It has been a crazy ride but now I live, love and dream Veira.

3. What were the struggles you faced when you became a designer?

The constant struggle to strike a balance between creativity and commercial viability. It never stops. Also, tremendous amount of effort and time required in making sure every step from concept-to-reality is achieved correctly while learning about the ever changing landscapes of retail business.

4. What is your very first designer bag?

A vintage Aigner sling bag.

5.What's on your holiday wish list?

Veira Christmas gift sets will bring a smile to the face of that special someone it is given to. And personally, I wish for a new wardrobe filled with colorful dresses :)

Channelling Rachel Zoe

Dress - Topshop, Sandals - Payless, Headband - Bangkok: Platinum Mall, Earrings - H&M

This all black outfit that Rachel Zoe wore during Fashion Week inspired me to throw one of my black blazers over my black maxi dresses. I decided to wear a lace dress to make the outfit more interesting and also sadly, I do not have those Chanel (?) half tinted sunglasses.

Shopaholics Guide to Kuala Lumpur - Bangsar Bahru Boutiques

With only one purchase from my previous trip to Kuala Lumpur, I did not have high expectations for shopping when I headed to Kuala Lumpur last month. The popular shopping haunts in KL like Berjaya Times Square, Sungei Wang, Bukit Bintang did not leave an impression on me and in my opinion, the top countries to go to for shopping in Asia has always been Bangkok, Hong Kong and Shenzhen.

This trip, however, I discovered an up an coming shopping gem at Kuala Lumpur. Bangsar Bahru. Bangsar Bahru is a swanky shopping precinct that houses many trendy fashion boutiques and restaurants and is becoming very popular for expatriates and locals.

Here is a guide of the must visit boutiques at Bangsar Bahru:

Shoes Shoes Shoes

With a huge passion for shoes, Yiu Lin started this shoe label where she designs and manufactures these exquisite shoes. Yiu Lin's designs are elegant, trendy and also pocket friendly! Besides Shoes Shoes Shoes, Yiu Lin also has a clothing line called IdyLinn and a bag line called Klutched
