Last week, I did a shoot with Doorstep Luxury.com with one of the brands stocked at their website, Ally Capellino. Ally Capellino is started by Alison Lloyd. The brand was started with her then-partner, Jono Platt in 1980. Since then, Ally Capellino has a reputation for simple, modern and timeless designs. When Bloggers Meet

When Michelle Koesnadi was in town last week, she organised a small brunch with 2 other indonesian bloggers, Catherine and Fhenny! It was a good time of catching up, fun, and lots of laughter! We decided to have a spontaneous photoshoot at Youth Park! Cannot wait to catch up with these girls again! :) Hopefully the next time we meet I will be able to go over to Jakarta to meet them!

Batik Day #2

Today is National Batik Day in Indonesia so I wore the batik scarf that the girls behind Batik Day sent me! This time I wore it loosely like a men's tie. I got this neon orange jacket when I was at Kuala Lumpur 2 weeks back, yes I have a similar one that I got from Hong Kong. But, you can never have too many neon orange jackets :P

Batik Day

A group of people who adore batik in Indonesia, started a social movement called Batik Day on October 2 to support Indonesia's National Heritage and National Batik Day. I was invited to participate in this social movement along with many other fashion bloggers. The lovely girls behind Batik Day sent me this beautiful batik scarf and iPad batik case.

Batik is a cloth that uses a manual wax-resist dyeing technique. It takes 5 years to learn the skills to draw on the white cloth to wax the lines to separate the sections of the drawing. I think it is great movement to protect and spread Indonesia's national heritage and I am delighted to be involved in it.

I received the batik scarf and iPad case today and styled it very simply with this black lace dress of mine. I love the print and a scarf is really versatile! I will try styling it in other ways like a men's tie and post up some photos soon! I used the iPad case as a clutch because I do not own an iPad.

Get The Look: Spice Girl

As a 90s kid, I literally grew up with Spice Girls. Ever since I was a little girl, I WANTED to be Victoria Adams, she was literally the reason I grew to love fashion. Words cannot describe how happy I was when they announced that they were going to reunite for a performance at the London 2012 Olympics. 

I loved the performance and the songs they sang were my favorite Spice Girls song. Each of their outfit was reflective of their personas but I must say I was slightly upset that Ginger Spice did not wear her iconic union jack dress!

Here are some looks I did so that you guys will know what to wear if you ever want to dress up like the Spice Girls!

Social Rehab

Social Rehab is launched to help fight against the poor cellphone etiquette. Are there times where you think your friends are ignoring you because they are too busy on their smartphone? Social Rehab is a programme by an Ad Agency BBH to help people recover from their cellphone addictions.

According to a recent survey, 24% of people have missed out on experiencing important moments because they were too busy documenting it with their smartphones for online sharing. Social Rehab aims to help people log off their social networks when they are with friends and concentrating on interacting with their friends in real life. The Social Rehab toolkit takes elements of the digital world and creates tangible items such as Instaglasses instead of Instagram, ‘Twitter’ note cards instead of digital Tweets, ‘Like’ stickers instead of the ‘Like’ button and ‘Draw Something’ doodle pads instead of a smartphone application. All of these items aim to promote real life interactions over impersonal digital ones. 

I was invited by them to do a video with my friends on social rehab experience. It is the first time since I started a blog that I agreed to be in a video! I suffer from Lisp ( a speaking disorder ) so I always shun from being in videos, but this seemed like a nice experience so I went for it! :) I was also lucky I have friends who agreed to be in the video with me!

Studs and Spikes

A few weeks back, I asked Gregory Woo from Do or Diy to make me a studded headband as headbands are my trademark! I have always wanted a studded headband but a lot of them were not to my liking! This headband is made of brass spikes and studs and I love it!

Upon posting the photo on my Instagram, many commented that it made me look like Statue of Liberty! Gregory also made for me a neon pink woven leather bracelet that you can see faintly in this photo. And a super kick ass leather bracelet with silver spikes. Cannot wait to post my photos soon :)
