Top - Global Citizen, Skirt - Forever 21, Headband - Bangkok: Platinum Mall, Shoes - Far East Plaza, Tote - Global Citizen, Necklace - Global Citizen

I've not worn this mustard pleated skirt from Forever 21 for a long long time so I decided to pick it up to wear for Chinese New Year Day 5! :) I took this photo as I was visiting this huge Chinese New Year Festival called River Angbao at Marina Bay Floating Platform! And I decided to take a photo next to my own zodiac, the horse! :)

For Spring/Summer 2012, Dr Martens reinvent their classic 3-Eye shoes in these pretty candy colors in Blueberry, Off White, Rasberry and Sun Yellow. The shoes retail for SGD 169 per pair.

I have always wanted a pair of Dr Martens' 3-Eye boots and these versions are definitely vibrant and eyecatching. The question is, which color?!

Chinese New Year!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Dress - Global Citizen, Wedges - Crocs, Headband - Bangkok, Leggings - Bugis Street, Tote Bag - Global Citizen, Earrings - H&M

This was my outfit for my reunion dinner with my family! I really love this dress from Global Citizen cause it is really classy and understated. Plus I do not own any piece of clothing in taupe! The faux snakeskin tote bag is also from Global Citizen, I can never carry small bags because I just have too many things to carry around. Will take a closeup shot of the bag soon, been receiving lots of praises for it!

Anyway, it is the Chinese New Year now! Hope everything will be good for all of you and collect many red packets :)

Shinee Key in Dazed and Confused Korea: The Boy and Monster

As a Super Junior fangirl, I hardly pay attention to the activities of other bands in Kpop. But this particular one caught my eye. Shinee's Key appeared in an editorial in Dazed and Confused Korea wearing Givency, Martin Maison Margiela, Burberry Prorsum, Balmain and Bottega Veneta. I really liked the whole styling of the editorial and no guy can pull off blue eyeshadow as well as Key.

I also included the interview with Key in Dazed and Confused, particularly when he mentions meeting Henry Holland and which is his favorite designer! Read on to find out his opinions on Fashion.

We saw Cassette Playa Carri Munden’s blog. You went to the 20th Anniversary party. Tell us about the party that we couldn’t even go to.
Carri took me along. It was a nice atmosphere.

How did you befriend Carri Munden?
During our “Juliette” promotions, we wore a collaboration t-shirt from KTZ and Cassette Playa. Carri saw that by chance and told a Korean buyer that she was curious about who we were. That buyer turned out to be my friend. Lee Heemun was a buyer for the Daily Project before. When we went to England, Carri came to our London show. And that’s when the 20th Anniversary party was.

Carri Munden used to work as a stylist for Dazed and Confused
Yes, so Carri took me to that party. I met everyone there! I wasn’t even nervous when I was on stage but for some reason, I was trembling there. I saw Kaya Scodelario, Gareth Pugh, and House of Holland’s Henry Holland. Oh, I was wearing a House of Holland t-shirt that day. It was one that Henry Holland personally illustrated.

Did Henry Holland notice?
He was passing by and hugged me.

Did you also meet Jefferson Hack, the publisher of Dazed and Confused?
Yes, Carri introduced me to him. I asked her to say that I am just a friend and not a singer from Korea. But when she introduced me as a friend, I almost said “I was on the cover of the Korean ”! Haha.

Do you get along with Carri Munden?
We connect. Out of the people who make clothes, there are those who don’t open up to others and those who do. Carri was the type to continuously say “Let’s make this together” and put out ideas. I asked her if she can take care of outfits for SHINee’s comeback and she said “Of course!” Work overseas takes a lot of time so I’m not sure how it will work out. If we have the chance though, we want to do something fun together.

I have to ask you what your favorite designer brand is lately.
It’s Jill Sander. The colors are really beautiful. I’m going to get married in a Jill Sander suit. The top will be green and the bottom will be green. I don’t have anything else but that one. Rather than things that say “I’m a designer”, I like items that people, who just enjoy the work, make based on their taste and feelings. Vintage is good too. When we went to Spain recently, we found a lot of old stores. There were several things taken apart and put together to make new accessories. You know how there’s that Blank @ necklace that’s connected to an earphone. I bought a lot of accessories that were even messier and cooler than that.

For today’s photoshoot, you personally borrowed clothes from the shop and brought your own outfits (He brought the Miharayasuhiro knit vest, black Givenchy shirt, and a skull patterned bracelet that would suit the monster concept).
Ah, it’s not that amazing. I asked a friend for a favor and brought a few clothes that I thought were fitting.

How did you feel wearing them today?
I wore them like new clothes yesterday and like used clothes today.

How would you describe each of your clothes? Before, you wore socks with the Simpsons character on it and now you’re wearing socks with a space shuttle and an astronaut.
I always pay attention to my socks(laughs). Today, I’m all vintage except for my shoes. My shoes are John Paul Gaultier. The socks were a present and they don’t have a brand. The person said they bought it at a market. I think I bought the pants when I was passing by some place. I don’t really remember. I might have bought it at H&M when I went to Japan. Do you see how the pants are ripped? They were originally long pants but I cut them. I bought the shirt at a Korean vintage shop and the denim jacket at a LA vintage shop.

Want: Skeleton Hand Bracelet

Ever since I saw Anja Rubik wearing the skeleton hand by Delfina Delettrez in Vogue UK 2009. I literally died. Back then I was hoping it was available in gold too as I have a soft spot for gold jewellery, don't we all? I was browsing on her site the other day and came across this.

How amazing can this piece of jewellery get? Definitely not something anyone can pull off. An heir to the Fendi Empire, Delfina Delettrez's Skeleton Hand Bracelet is made of either silver, gold, diamonds and a Cabocon ruby.

I have been thinking about this skeleton hand bracelet for 2 years, surely it means something? You can preorder them on Luisaviaroma.com but they cost about an arm and a leg. Literally.

But a girl, can dream.

Reckless Ericka: Wayfarer A/W 2011 Collection

I know we should not play favorites but Reckless Ericka is definitely one of my favorite Singaporean label. I have worn their clothes in many occasions like here and here and always received many many praises when I wear them. To date, I own about 6 of Reckless Ericka pieces.

I had a short chat with Afton, one of the creative forces behind Reckless Ericka, about which designers she look up to and which superhero she will like to be!

1. Reckless Ericka was started by a trio, what inspired you guys to start a label?
Starting a label was part of our dreams and it felt right at that moment in early 2009. We were then presented a wonderful chance to showcase alongside 3 international designers (Christian Lacroix, Vivienne Westwood & Gareth Pugh) during the Audi Fashion Festival Singapore in May 2009, as part of the Blueprint featuring Blackmarket fashion show. It was a great platform and gave us a great jump start.

As for our label’s name, we are inspired by a fictional character, Ericka, from a book by Paul Arden called “Whatever you think, think the opposite”. In the short story, Ericka is very free-spirited, not afraid to be wrong, and we would like to capture that in our designs. Undaunted by boundaries and unfazed by risks ahead, Ericka does what feels recklessly right.

2. With 2 stores at Orchard Central and Vivo City, what is your most memorable experience since the start of your label?
Every step of the way has been interesting and unforgettable, but the most memorable experience has to be opening our 2nd outlet at Vivocity within a year of opening our 1st outlet in Orchard Central.

3. Which are the designers, local and international that you look up to?
Nic Wong from Nicholas & Saturday. He’s one of our mentors and we are grateful for him guiding us along the way.

I love Vivienne Westwood’s vivaciousness and radical styles that seek to challenge any forms and notions. Her fantastically opulent designs and imaginative mashing together of performance art and high fashion astounds and inspires me.

4. I have seen many celebrities in Reckless Ericka, what are the celebrities you wish will be wearing Reckless Ericka?
Jefferson Hack & Anna Dello Russo

5. What are the future plans of your label?
For 2012, we have plans to venture overseas by joining tradeshows.

6. If you can be a superhero, what will it be?
Having an ability to teleport would be great!
